Mount Lassen Camp WINTER Update 2023

Happy New Year to all and I hope that the holidays were a great blessing for you and your
families as well as the churches or ministries that you lead.

I know it has been a bit since an update life gets hectic.

Camp is in a lull due to the weather and snow. There is a lot of snow up there. Obviously, this is
good for our states. The camp was shut down and buttoned up for the winter with the help of a
great group of volunteers. Smokey and Karen Denna had been at the camp a lot this past
summer doing work and making sure someone was on the grounds while we were prepping for
2023. Loren and Lynn Freeman spent a lot of time at the camp also in the early part of the year
again working hard on making the camp ready for this year’s reopening. With out the help that
was given this would not have been possible.

Our sewer renovation is ready to go once the snow melts. We have the new pumps, electrical
board and other items needed to get this back up and running. This was a project that needed to
be done to make sure that the camp has the infrastructure needed to accommodate camps.

The water truck is still needing to get the repairs done to it and should be done by the time of our
first camps. Sadly, Stephen McIntosh who was going to do the work was in a tragic accident last
March and he succumbed to his injuries in December. He was a great friend to me and an even
better friend to God’s work. He was a person that I could contact to have work done on
equipment for the camp. He had just finished the backhoe when he was in his accident. If you
could say a special prayer for his wife and four young kids.

Once we can get into the camp and start to prep for the year there will be lots of projects to be
done. We will always accept any help that you or your congregation can provide.

We were blessed by a large donation that came into the camp. This was funds from the estate of
a person who obviously had a great heart for this camp. I want to thank Abe Daniels and Trinity
Life who handled the estate and made sure that the wishes of this person were carried out. I
believe that several entities were blessed by this person.

Also, on a great note we will once again be hosting an AOG youth and kids camp at our facility.
This has been a work in progress to get these camps back and we want to make sure that they are
very successful. I have to give a big shout to Pastor Erika Deihl, Pastor Anthony Garza and
Pastor David Blythe of HighPoint Assembly along with the District Personnel and others that I
am sure I am missing for helping to make this happen.

As always please be in prayer for YOUR camp. This day in age we need to make sure that GOD
is our focus and continue to spread HIS word.
